Because the Clarkson University Volleyball team is taking the weekend off from competition, setter Lani Durio (Austin, TX) will finally relinquish her stranglehold on Liberty League Rookie of the Week honors in seven days, but for now the Golden Knights freshman celebrates her sixth straight week as the conference's selection for top newcomer.
Durio was chosen to the Clarkson Volleyball Invitational All-Tournament team, her second all-tournament selection of 2010, this past weekend. Durio was a dynamic force in the Clarkson offense over the course of four matches, twice recording career-highs in assists, including 56 against Elizabethtown College on Saturday night. Her 56 assists against the Blue Jays are the most of any player in the conference all-season long, and her 52 assists against RIT on Friday night are the second most.
For the week, she averaged 10.21 assists per set and also added in 30 digs.
