A first half goal would stand up as the winner as the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team fell 1-0 to Skidmore on Saturday afternoon.
Clarkson now holds a record of 5-7-1 with a 1-2-1 record in the Liberty League while Skidmore is 5-4-2 with a 2-0-2 record in the conference.
Skidmore would score the only goal about midway through the first half. At the 22:22 mark, Morgan Governale kicked a loose ball into the back of the Clarkson net to make the score 1-0.
The rest of the game would see plenty of shots, but no more goals. Clarkson would take 13 shots while Skidmore would take 22. The excellent play of both goalies would make sure that Governale's goal would remain the only score of the game. Clarkson senior keeper Kim Kenline would finish with five saves while her Skidmore counterpart, Deirdre Walsh would finish with four stops of her own.
Next weekend, the Golden Knights will again play on the road as they travel to Vassar for a 4:00 pm game on Friday and then to Bard for a 2:00 pm game on Saturday.
