The Golden Knights opened the scoring just eight minutes in. Nikki Carfi found Courtney Black who scored her first goal of the season. Just twelve seconds later, Clarkson had doubled their lead. This time it was Madison Kather scoring off a pass from Kanoe Eichholz.
At 11:40, Clarkson grabbed a third goal. This time it was leading scorer and recent Clarkson student-athlete of the week Lauren Flynn who scored. Her goal was assisted by Summer Gillespie.
That was all the goals for Clarkson in the first half, but they added two more in the second. Carfi notched a goal of her own in the 54th minute. Finally, Tori Sailor scored the fifth and final goal in the 81st minute. Her goal was assisted by Lisa D'Auria.
The Green and Gold held a 23-14 advantage in shots and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks. Anna Demasi made eight saves in the Clarkson goal while Nichole Weeks had 12 saves for Johnson State.
