Annandale-on-Hudson, NY - Despite some close calls, after 110 minutes of action on Friday the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team and Bard College finished in a 0-0 scoreless tie.

The Golden Knights had their fourth straight winelss outing and moved to 4-2-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the Liberty League, while Bard is now 4-5-1, 0-0-1. Clarkson faces Vassar College on Saturday.

Bard had the better of possession and shots early on, outshooting Clarkson 4-0 in the first 20 minutes of the first half. As the game wore on, however, the Golden Knights changed the momentum and had opportunities to score down the stretch. The game really came down to two great scoring opportunities, one for each team.

In the 59th minute, Clarkson senior Katie VanDeValk (Baldwinsville, NY) struck a shot from the penalty area off a corner kick that hit the bottom of the crossbar and landed just inches from the goal line before it was cleared away.

Bard's best shot came in the second over time when sophomore Alana Shaw was pulled down just outside the box on a breakaway, and the ensuing yellow card gave freshman Isabel Keddy-Hector a direct free kick from one yard outside the top of the box. The low shot clanged off the far post in the 106th minute, and the game finished in a draw.

Clarkson keeper Kim Kenline (Akron, NY) made four saves, and defender Ashley DeHond (Penfield, NY) was credited with a save for clearing a shot off the line in the first half. Lena James made six saves for Bard.
