Freshman Christine Wright (Watertown, NY) scored five goals to lead the Clarkson University Women’s Lacrosse team through inclement weather and past SUNY Canton to open a season-ending, four-game road trip with a 17-9 victory on Tuesday afternoon.

The Golden Knights, who improved their record to 9-4 overall, will play at Oswego State on Thursday, at 4:00 p.m.

Clarkson led from the start against Canton (5-6) as senior Alyssa Cristaldi (North Syracuse, NY) opened the scoring just 29 seconds in. Cristaldi and classmate Katie VanDeValk (Baldwinsville, NY) both finished with three goals and four points. Senior Jeannette Pendergast (Greenfield Center, NY) also scored three goals. Along with Cline, senior Noelle Miller (Hamburg, NY) and junior Danielle Faivus (Oswego, NY) rounded out Clarkson’s goal scorers with one each.
