Clarkson women's lacrosse can't keep pace with Oswego

In its final non-league game of the season, the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team fell to Oswego State 14-5 at Hantz Turf Field on Friday afternoon.

Sophomore Christine Wright (Watertown, NY) scored three goals for the Golden Knights, while freshmen Paige Fayette (Theresa, NY) and Kate Dillon (St. Albans, VT) added one goal apiece.

Oswego (8-3) raced out to an 8-2 lead at the half and outscored the Green and Gold 6-3 over the final 30 minutes to post the road win. Lindsey Eggers and Erannan Shattuck scored four goals apiece to pace the Lakers.

Oswego outshot the Knights 28-20 and controlled ground balls 13-8. Clarkson held the advantage in draw controls, winning 11 of 20 as sophomore Meaghan McKenna (Buffalo, NY) recorded three wins for the Knights.

Senior Kara DiNatale (Auburn, NH) started in goal for Clarkson and posted nine saves on 22 shots. Sophomore Dani Tani (Heuvelton, NY) made one stop on two shots over the final 10 minutes.

Nikki Greco picked up the win for the Lakers with eight saves.

Clarkson will close out a seven-game home stand next week with three games at Hantz Turf Field, beginning with St. Lawrence on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. The Knights stand at 4-8 overall and 1-3 in the Liberty League.
