Coming off an important win over local rival St. Lawrence, the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team will travel to Rensselear for a 7:00 pm game on Friday and to Union for a 4:00 pm game on Saturday.

Guided by seventh-year head coach Matt Desrosiers, who earned his 150th career win against Brown last Saturday, and first-year assistant coaches Meghan Duggan and Britni Smith, the Green and Gold have an overall record of 17-8-3 with an 11-3-2 record in ECAC Hockey play. They are currently tied for third place in ECAC Hockey, just two points out of first place, and are ranked tenth in the national polls.

Senior Christine Lambert (Thetford Mines, QUE) had herself quite a weekend, picking up five points across the two games. First she had both Clarkson goals in a 3-2 losing effort against Yale and then had three assists in the 6-0 win over Brown. It was the first time this season that she had consecutive games with multiple points. She would repeat her three-assist performance on Tuesday when she set up every Clarkson goal in their 3-1 win over St. Lawrence at Appleton Arena in Canton, giving her three games in a row with at least two points.

Junior captain Shannon MacAulay (Mt. Herbert, PEI) and her classmate Cayley Mercer (Exeter, ONT) continue to rack up points. Mercer now has a team-leading 32 points while MacAulay is just behind her with 31. Mercer had a goal and an assist against Brown and then followed it up with the game-winning goal against St. Lawrence. She now has a team-leading 16 assists and her 16 goals share the team lead with MacAulay. MacAulay has 15 assists to go with her 16 goals and also had a goal and an assist in the win over Brown. Both of those totals are career highs for her.

Junior assistant captain Erin Ambrose (Keswick, ONT) had an assist against Yale to go along with a goal and an assist against Brown. She added an assist against St. Lawrence and she now has 106 career points and is just five points away from tying her former teammate Brittany Styner '14 for sixth on the all-time list. She leads the team with 11 power play points, on four goals and seven assists. All four of her points in the past three games were on man-advantage opportunities.

Freshman goaltender Shea Tiley (Owen Sound, ONT) made 15 saves against Brown to complete her sixth shutout of the season. She also had 27 saves against Yale. She followed those performances up with a career high 42 saves against the Saints, including a career high 18 in the third period. The week before, she made a then career-high 34 saves in consecutive games against Wisconsin in route to being named ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week.

Junior assistant captain Olivia Howe (Moose Jaw,SASK) had two goals against Brown and then scored the opening goal against St. Lawrence. She has now scored 25 goals, including ten this season, in her Clarkson career and 23 of them have come in Clarkson victories.

Sophomore Genevieve Bannon (Candiac, QUE) was the fifth goal scorer in the 6-0 win against Brown and also had an assist in each game last weekend. She added a goal against St. Lawrence to give her 11 on the year. Her 11 goals and 16 assists, a total that ties Mercer for the team-lead, gives her 27 points which matches her total from her freshman season.

The win over St. Lawrence gives Clarkson two wins in a row. They will be hoping to extend that streak to three wins in a row for the first time since winning five games in a row between October 24th and November 1st. The win over the ranked Saints also gives Clarkson a record of 2-5-3 against ranked squads.

Rensselaer comes into the game with a 5-19-4 record overall and are 3-12-1 in ECAC Hockey play, placing them in 10th in the conference. Last weekend, the Engineers lost at Colgate and Cornell, getting outscored 11-3 over the course of the two games. Rensselear visited Potsdam on January 17th, with Clarkson coming away with a 4-2 win thanks to a goal and two assists from freshman Savannah Harmon (Downers Grove, IL). Clarkson holds an all-time record of 15-4-2 against the Engineers and have outscored them 72-31 in the series.

Union holds a record of 4-19-5 and is just 1-13-2 in ECAC Hockey games, putting them in a tie with Brown at the bottom of the conference. In their last game, they were able to tie Colgate, earning just their second conference point of 2015. The Dutchwomen visited Cheel Arena just a day before Rensselear and left with a 4-0 loss. Clarkson had four different goal-scorers that day, including sophomore Jessica Gillham (Uxbridge, ONT) who scored the game-winner. The all-time series has been dominated by the Golden Knights who have won 22 of 23 matchups, including six in a row, and have outscored Union 101 to 11.
