Clarkson University Women’s Hockey junior standout Jamie Lee Rattray (Kanata, ONT) and incoming Golden Knight freshman Erin Ambrose (Keswick, ONT) are among the elite players selected to the 22-player roster for Canada’s National Women’s Under-22/Development Team.
Rattray Clarkson’s top goal scorer last season, skated with Canada’s U22 National Team at the 2012 Meco Cup in Fussen, Germany. Ambrose played this past season for the Toronto Junior Aero’s (PWHL). At the 2012 U18 World Championships, Ambrose was presented with the award for the Tournament’s Top Defenseman as well as being named as one of the top three players on her team throughout the tournament voted on by the coaching body.
Team Canada will play in a three-game series against the United States’ Women’s Under-22 Select Team from Thursday, Aug. 16 to Sunday, Aug. 19 in Calgary.
The 13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders were chosen following Canada’s National Women’s Under-22/Development Team selection camp held Aug. 3-11, also held in Calgary, at Hockey Canada’s home rink, the WinSport Canada Athletic & Ice Complex.
