Celebrating the 10th season of Clarkson University Women’s Hockey in 2012-13, the Golden Knights face perhaps their most challenging schedule this winter. Guided by fifth-year co-head coaches Matt and Shannon Desrosiers, and assistant coach Matt Kelly, the Green and Gold will play 11 games against teams that made last year’s NCAA Tournament, including three match-ups against 2012 Frozen Four participants.

2012-13 Clarkson Women's Hockey Schedule (web version)

Clarkson officially opens the 34-game slate facing off against arch-rival St. Lawrence University in back-to-back non-conference games. The Knights battle the Saints in Canton on October 5 for the first of four meetings against their North Country neighbor, followed by a game in Potsdam on October 6 for the first of 17 regular-season games at Cheel Arena.

After a pair of mid-October, non-league weekend series against the University of Vermont, of Hockey East, (in Potsdam) and College Hockey America frontrunner Mercyhurst College (in Erie, PA), the Knights begin ECAC Hockey.

Clarkson, which has qualified for ECAC Hockey postseason play in each of its first eight years in the highly competitive conference, opens the 22-game league campaign hosting capital district rivals Union College and Rensselaer on October 26-27.

A trip out west to battle WCHA powerhouse the University of North Dakota opens November on the second and third of the month. Clarkson returns to the North Country on November 9 to start a run of six consecutive ECAC Hockey games, beginning with Yale University.

The Green and Gold close out the 2012 portion of the schedule with a home-and-home series against Syracuse University on December 7-8.

Clarkson opens the New Year by hosting Hockey East powers Boston College and Northeastern on January 3-4 for the final non-league games of the season.

Playoff hockey begins on March 1-3 with the quarterfinal round of the ECAC Hockey Tournament. The league's championship weekend will be held on March 3-8 at the campus site of the highest remaining seeds in the eight-team tournament. NCAA postseason play concludes on Sunday, March 24 with the 13th Annual Frozen Four at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis, MN.

Prior to the official start of the 2012-13 campaign, Clarkson will host Ottawa-PWHL on Saturday, September 29 in an exhibition contest to begin the program’s 10th season.
