Unbeaten in 10 straight games, the 3rd-ranked Clarkson University Women's Hockey team will look to stay hot as they welcome Quinnipiac University and Princeton University to Cheel Arena this weekend for a pair of crucial ECAC Hockey games. The Bobcats come to Potsdam Friday night at 7:00 pm, followed by the Tigers on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 pm.

Guided by sixth-year co-head coaches Matt and Shannon Desrosiers, and assistant coach Matt Kelly, the Golden Knights currently stand at 21-4-3 (12-2-2) and sit two points behind Harvard, with a game in hand on the Crimson, for first place in the conference. With six games to play in the regular season, points are at a premium as the Knights try to secure the top spot.

Friday evening will be a Top-10 matchup as Quinnipiac enters the game ranked 8th/9th in the country. The Bobcats are in fourth place in the conference with a record of 17-4-7 (8-3-5) and are fighting with St. Lawrence for the four-seed and the right to host the quarterfinals in the ECAC playoffs.

Princeton enters the weekend desperate for points as well, as they are 11-9-3 (7-7-2) and currently in sixth place. A string of victories could move them into hosting a quarterfinal matchup, while a cold streak could keep them out of the tournament all together.

Senior Jamie Lee Rattray (Kanata, ONT) extended her points lead over everyone else in the country as she posted her second straight six-point weekend in wins over Union and Rensselaer. Her performance earned her a second straight and third overall ECAC Player of the Week award and she now has 48 points, four more than any other skater in the nation, and an NCAA-high 25 goals. She is also tied for the national lead in power-play goals with seven on the year.

Aiming to reach the century mark, senior Brittany Styner (Calgary, ALB) stands two points shy of 100 for her career and will look to be the 8th Golden Knight to hit the milestone. She would join classmates Rattray and captain Carly Mercer (Exeter, ONT) as active 100-point skaters.

Mercer has consistently been a threat for the Green and Gold, as she has scored at least one point in 12 of the last 13 games for Clarkson. She has tallied 11 goals and 24 assists on the season.

Senior goaltender Erica Howe (Ottawa, ONT) continues to stay hot, allowing just one goal last weekend. She leads the nation with 10 shutouts and made the ECAC Hockey weekly Honor Roll for an 11th time this week.

Rattray and Howe were honored by the league for their strong performances in January as the duo earned ECAC Hockey Player and Goaltender of the Month accolades, respectively.

Sophomore Erin Ambrose (Keswick, ONT) has racked up the assists lately, adding four more last weekend. She is now the all-time leading scorer for defenders in Clarkson history, passing Carlee Eusepi's mark of 73 from 2006-10. She is tied for first in Division I with 30 and leads all defenders with 40 points on the year, 14 more than any other defender in the country.

Quinnipiac, guided by former Clarmson head coach Rick Seeley, is coming off a 2-2 tie with Harvard last weekend. Senior Kelly Babstock is one of the most dangerous scorers in the country, tallying 15 goals and 24 assists on the year. The Knights beat the Bobcats 3-0 the first time around this year when the two teams met in December.

Princeton has had an up-and-down season thus far, lacking consistent scoring and allowing 64 goals in 23 games. The Knights tallied four first period goals against the Tigers in December on their way to a 7-0 win.
