When the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team travels to play Harvard, goals can be extremely hard to come by. Just one goal has been scored in the last 125 minutes of play between the two teams after the Golden Knights and the Crimson skated to a 0-0 tie on Friday night at Bright-Landry Hockey Center in Cambridge, MA.

Clarkson is now 9-0-1 overall and 0-0-1 in ECAC Hockey play while Harvard is 0-1-1 overall and in ECAC Hockey games.

"I thought tonight was an exciting, fast paced game," said Clarkson Head Coach Matt Desrosiers. "Both teams hit a couple posts and had some flurries around the opposing net, but were unable to put one away. I'm happy with the way we competed and battled tonight to gain a big point on the road. Even though we didn't come away with a win I thought we took some great strides forward tonight. We need to make sure we follow it up with another good effort tomorrow."

Neither team was at full strength with Clarkson senior assistant captain Renata Fast and Harvard goaltender Emerance Maschmeyer taking part in the 4 Nations Cup as a part of Canada's National Women's Hockey team. Clarkson did get a boost though with the return of senior assistant captain Erin Ambrose who returned from injury to play for the first time this season.

Friday night's game was a duel between goaltenders. Both Clarkson's sophomore goaltender Shea Tiley and Harvard's Molly Tissenbaum finished with 23 saves each in 65 minutes of action. The pair turned away shot after shot to each earn a shutout, the third of the season for Tiley and first for Tissenbaum.

The best chance of the night came during a Clarkson power play with less than three minutes remaining in the third period. Sophomore Amanda Titus fired a shot that looked like it had a chance to find the back of the net, but it cruelly hit the post and stayed out.

Clarkson will continue its travels when the Green and Gold heads to Dartmouth for a 3:30 game on Saturday afternoon while Harvard will continue to look for its first win of the season when the Crimson host St. Lawrence in a 4:00 pm game.
