Plattsburgh, NY - Ashley Loggins tossed in 19 points for the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team on Friday night, but the Golden Knights fell by seven points to seventh-ranked Bowdoin College in the Hampton Inn/Microtel Plattsburgh State Invitational.

The Golden Knights will take on Johnson State at 1:00 pm on Saturday afternoon to close out their schedule prior to the Thanksgiving break.

Clarkson took two-plus minutes to gain a 7-2 lead, but just 2:49 later Bowdoin was concluding a 10-1 run and never relinquished the lead again. Although the Polar Bears wrested the lead away from the Knights, the two teams were never separated by more than 10 points for the remainder of the contest. Bowdoin picked up a couple of 10-point leads in the second quarter and led by eight at the break. A Devin Sorell jumper at 7:14 in the third pulled Clarkson back within four, and near the close of the period Kathleen Coloney buried a jumper as well and got the Knights within a bucket, 44-42. However, that was as close as Clarkson could get. A 3-pointer from the Polar Bears on the first possession of the fourth quarter to regain their 10-point lead, but Clarkson continued to stay within striking distance, cutting the margin to within five points on three different occasions. After Ashley Loggins grabbed an offensive rebounds and put the carom back in, Clarkson was within five in the final minute, but the Polar Bears made four free throws to put the game out of reach in the waning seconds.

Loggins enjoyed a solid all-around game with 19 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and six steals, while Sorell added in 15 points and five boards. Alyssia Marsal also kicked in 11 points for Clarkson's cause, and Kathleen Coloney scored eight points on 4-for-4 shooting in just eight minutes. For Bowdowin, Shannon Brady scored 21 points with seven rebounds, five blocks and a pair of steals. Kate Kerrigain had 11 points, making three 3-point field goals, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals for the Polar Bears and Marle Curle also contributed 10 points.
