Annville, PA - Freshman Ashley Loggins (Albany, NY) scored a game-high 17 points, but the Clarkson University Women's Basketball team came up short against 10th-ranked Lebanon Valley 76-41 in the opening round of the Lebanon Valley Tip-Off Tournament Saturday evening.

The Golden Knights fell to 0-2 on the season and will play in the consolation game tomorrow at 1:00 pm against a yet to be determined opponent.

In the opening minutes, Clarkson stayed close with the Flying Dutchwomen thanks to a 3-pointer from Leighann Tomita (Cerritos, CA), but that would be the only basket that the Golden Knights would make for some time while Lebanon Valley found its groove offensively and went on a 22-0 run over the next eight minutes. The Knights stopped the rush with some free throws, but unfortunately went 13 minutes without a field goal as the Dutchwomen built a 30-point lead. A late Clarkson run had the Knights back to within 27 at the half, but a 4-for-22 performance from the field in the first half had the decision virtually decided at the break.

Loggins had 17 points to lead all scorers, going 6-for-15 from the field, while Tomita and Isabella Esposito (Essex, VT) each contributed eight points. For the Dutchwomen, 14 different players recorded at least one point with Renee Fritz and Caitlin Bach each tallying 12 points to lead Lebanon Valley.
