The Golden Knights' men fell 117-103, while the women dropped their meet to the Lakers 121-82. Clarkson returns to action next Saturday when it hosts St. Michael's at Fuller Pool.
Clarkson's men started off with a solid showing, winning the 400 medley relay thanks to Rowe, Chris Plummer (Spencerport, NY), Bob Stevens (Lakewood, NY), and Paul Telesca (Liverpool, NY), as the foursome finished in 3:52.63. Rowe then claimed the 200 freestyle (1:52.54) and 200 backstroke (2:02.13) and sophomore Sean Parnett (Clifton Park, NY) touched the pad first in the 100 butterfly (2:12.81).
The Golden Knights' women also claimed a pair of individual victories early on, with senior Nicole Pera (Jamison, PA) taking first in the 200 backstroke (2:20.50), and sophomore Colleen Daly (Manlius, NY) placing first in the 500 freestyle (6:02.86).
