Middlebury, VT - Sophomore Tyler Cline (Tuxedo, NY) shot a two-over par 73 on day two of the Duke Nelson Invitatioinal to help lift the Clarkson University Golf team to a sixth-place finish among 25 teams in the two-day event at Ralph Myhre Golf Course on the campus of Middlebury College.

The Golden Knights started the day in a multi-teamed tie for 10th after the opening day, but jumped up into the sixth spot, trailing just Rensselaer, Skidmore, Middlebury, Williams, and Trinity among the 25 squads competing.

Cline shot 77 on the first day and came through with a 73 on day two, just one shot off the best score of the second day, to finish with a two-day score of 150, good enough for a tie for fourth place among 127 golfers. Freshman Scott Henning (Vienna, VA) was among the best scorers on day one with a 75, but slipped slightly on day two to finish with a total of 157 for 22nd. Classmate Evan Cody (Malta, NY) shot 159 to finish in a tie for 35th, and Mike Sundstrom (New Haven, VT) rounded out the score for Clarkson with a 163 on scores of 84 and 79, to claim a tie of 59th. Freshman Nate Hagstrom (Clinton, NY) was the fifth golfer for the Knights and scored 184 over two days.
