The Golden Knights, who trailed 6-5 after the opening two quarters, pulled away from the Bears (4-3) in the second half by outscoring their neighbors 8-2 over the final 30 minutes to gain their fifth straight victory in the rivalry.

The Knights took control to start the second half with four straight goals, beginning with Herrington’s man-up goal 1:55 in, and outscored the Bears 5-1 in the third quarter to hold a 10-7 lead through 45 minutes. Clarkson continued to pressure in the final period putting up three more goals.
