Geneva, NY - Four different Hobart College soccer players scored to give the Statesmen a 4-1 victory over the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team in the Liberty League opener for both teams played on Cozzens Field at Hobart College.

The Golden Knights fell to 0-6-1 on the season overall and 0-1-0 in the Liberty League, while the Statesmen improved to 5-1-0 and 1-0-0. Clarkson will regroup withits first home games in four weeks this weekend when they host Bard College and Vassar College.

The Statesmen scored two goals on the first two shots of the match. In the seventh minute Kaeghan Kelly sent a pass into the box to find Alex Kittleberger on the right side of the goal. Kittelberger placed a header into the back of the net. Just 1:13 later, Jacob Fox stole the ball from a Clarkson defender at the top of the box, and fired a shot from there to give Hobart a 2-0 lead.

In the 30th minute, Hobart's Ian McGarty stretched the Statesmen's lead to 3-0 when he stole the ball from a Golden Knight defender at the top of the box, and scored on a play that was strikingly similar to Fox’s earlier tally.

Clarkson got on the board in the 63rd minute as freshman Marco Parisi (Guilford, CT) capitalized on a Hobart turnover. Parisi drilled a shot from just inside the box that was just out of the reach of the diving Statesmen goalkeeper.

Hobart finished off the scoring five minutes later off a corner kick when Caetano Sanchez redirected the pass from Marco Ronning.

Scott Stuart (Ottawa, ONT) made four saves in the Clarkson net, while Mike Lucas made three saves in 78 minutes and Tyler Serafine made a stop in 12 minutes for Hobart. Clarkson trailed in shots, 16-8, and Hobart had a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.
