POTSDAM -- After a four-goal outburst yesterday, the Clarkson Men's Soccer Team was silenced as they fell to the #13 Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks 5-0 on Saturday afternoon at Hantz Turf Field in Potsdam.
The Golden Knights will host Geneseo State next Friday at 4:00 pm at Hantz Turf Field while the Ducks head home to host NYU-Polytechnic next Wednesday.
The Ducks were on the attack right away, and in the 6th minute they scored as Carson Pryor headed a pass from Edward Rupp passed Clarkson goalie Alex White (Unadilla, NY) to give Stevens the 1-0 lead.
Stevens struck again in the 27th minute as Jay Mikula passed the ball up the left side of the field and Stephan Dunbar booted a groundball by the Clarkson defense and into the net.
The relentless Ducks offense scored once more in the first half as Mikula got the ball on the right side in the 40th minute and kicked another ground ball into the goal to give the team a 3-0 lead at halftime.
Stevens did not let up in the second half as they added two more goals en route to a 5-0 victory. The Ducks outshot the Golden Knights 14-4 and starting goalie Paul Killian was not required to make a save. White stopped four shots for the Green and Gold. Clarkson starters only mustered one shot on the afternoon.
