Another offensively dominating performance helped the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team defeat Buffalo State 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The win improves Clarkson's record to 4-1-1 while Buffalo State falls to 1-4-0.

Clarkson started the game right where they had left off against SUNY IT. Within ten minutes they had taken the lead. Marco Parisi (Guilford, C.T.) played a ball behind the Buffalo State defense and Tucker Wilcox (Broadalbin, N.Y.) had a long breakaway. Wilcox beat the goalkeeper and scored his team leading third goal of the season. Just three minutes later, freshman Kevin Calnan (Winchester, M.A.) scored his second goal career goal, and Clarkson's second of the game. He passed to senior Maximillian Leetz (Breudx, Germany) who played it right back and Calnan shot it past the goalkeeper to make the score 2-0.

With fifteen minutes left to go in the half, Buffalo State would score a goal to get back into the game. Barak Benyehuda played a long through ball to Joe Vucic who shot past Clarkson keeper Michael King (Verona, N.J), for Vucic's third goal of the season, and to draw Buffalo State within one goal heading into half-time.

With the momentum starting to swing in Buffalo's favor, Clarkson came out and scored a goal in the first five minutes of the second half to regain their two goal cushion. Clarkson won a free kick from 20 yards away from the goal. Parisi stepped up to take the kick and his shot flew past the Buffalo keeper and into the net. Less than two minutes later, Clarkson won another free kick. This time, senior Trevor Blackwell (Pittsford, N.Y.) stood over it from 20 yards out. Just like Parisi, Blackwell took a shot and it again found the back of the net to finish the scoring.

Buffalo State actually held the edge in shots as they had 10 to Clarkson's seven along with a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. King made two saves in net for the Golden Knights.

The Green and Gold won by three goals for the second consecutive game. They will head to Alfred University for a 1:00 pm game tomorrow, hoping to earn their first three game winning streak of the season along with their best seven game start to a season since 1993.
