An explosive day for the offense helped the Clarkson University Lacrosse team beat Skidmore 19-13 on Saturday afternoon on Hantz Turf Field.

Clarkson improves to 8-5 overall and 3-3 in the Liberty League. Skidmore is now 6-8 with a 2-4 conference record.

Skidmore started the game by scoring the first two goals, but goals by Ryan DaRin and Ryan St. Croix tied the game at 2. After Skidmore scored once more to regain the lead, Clarkson scored the next seven goals to take a huge lead. Kyle Brown got the run started with a goal at 4:37 before St. Croix scored two goals within a minute of each other to give Clarkson a 5-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Shane Kilday scored a man-up goal just 1:09 into the second quarter and Scott Dosser followed with a goal 34 seconds later. DaRin grabbed another goal at 12:03 and then Conor Bartlett scored a man-up goal at 11:16 to cap off the Clarkson run. Skidmore tried to get back into the game as the Thoroughbreds scored twice to get back within four goals, but St. Croix, Brown, and Kilday scored in succession to extend Clarkson's lead. Skidmore added one more goal before half to head into the break trailing 12-6.

It looked like Skidmore might make a run at Clarkson as the Thoroughbreds scored four of the first five goals of the half, with DaRin scoring the only goal for Clarkson in that span. That made the score 13-10, but that was as close as Skidmore got in the second half. DaRin scored the two bookending goals on a four goal run for Clarkson, with Brown and Bartlett getting the others, to regain separation for the Golden Knights. The two teams traded goals the rest of the way as Anthony DiGiovanni and DaRin scored for Clarkson.

Nick Strandholm made 10 saves for Clarkson in net. Ryan Gabriel won 21 of the game's 34 faceoffs. DaRin finished with a game high nine points on six goals and three assists. St. Croix and Bartlett both had five points, while Brown finished with four and Kilday with three. The 19 goals are the most Clarkson has ever scored against Skidmore in 24 meetings and is the most the Green and Gold have scored since firing 23 past Vassar in April of 2004.

Clarkon will close out its regular season on the road as the Golden Knights travel to RPI next Saturday.
