With a solid effort in a 14-5 victory at Brad College on Saturday afternoon, the Clarkson University Lacrosse team improved its overall record to .500 and kept its hopes alive for a postseason berth in the upcoming Liberty League playoffs.

Senior Corey Herrington led the way offensively for the Golden Knights with a six-point outing on three goals and three assists. Freshman Sam Groves also scored three goals in the Green and Gold's second win in the past three games.

Clarkson, which plays at North Country rival St. Lawrence on Wednesday before closing out the regular season hosting conference foe Vassar next Saturday, stands at 6-6 overall and 3-2 in the Liberty League.

The Knights jumped out to a 3-0 lead against Bard (3-9, 1-5) and held a 4-1 advantage after the first quarter. Clarkson outscored the Raptors 5-1 in the second stanza to take a 9-2 lead after the opening 30 minutes.

The teams traded three goals apiece in the third quarter, but the Knights sealed the road win by scoring the only two goals in the final frame.

Clarkson dominated on shots, 48-27 and ground balls, 34-16.

Behind the strong work at the "X" from senior Dylan Broomfield, who won 18-of-21 faceoffs, the Green and Gold controlled the pace of the game. Broomfield also picked up a game-high 11 ground balls, while junior Austin case recorded six.

Senior Dylan Hrebenach and sophomore Ryan St. Croix both scored two goals. Sophomore Ryan DaRin tallied three points (1-2).

George Goceljak led Bard with two scores.

Seniors Jack Dowst and Matthew Gold scored one goal along with junior J.R. Campbell to round out the Clarkson offense.

Sophomore Nick Strandholm picked up the win with seven saves through 52 minutes of play.
