Clarkson University Hockey alums Alex Boak '14 and Adam Pawlick '13 have been added to the preseason roster of the Fort Wayne Komets, the East Coast Hockey League franchise announced on Wednesday.

Boak, 26, will be entering his second full season as a pro after splitting last season with Wheeling in the ECHL and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the AHL. The defenseman from Norwood, New York scored a goal and added five assists while accumulating 80 penalty minutes in 31 AHL games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and added 14 games with Wheeling (1g, 2pts). Boak completed a four-year collegiate career in 2013-14 with Clarkson amassing college totals of seven goals, 31 points and 324 penalty minutes in 148 games.

Pawlick, 25, also skated a four-year college career with the Golden Knights before making his pro debut in 2013-14 in the SPHL with Pensacola, appearing in all 56 regular season games leading the Ice Flyers with 27 goals and capturing the regular season title. The Utica, New York native capped the season winning the SPHL President's Cup Championship. Last season Pawlick was an ironman for the second straight season with Pensacola skating 56 games and leading the Ice Flyers for the second consecutive year with 32 while taking the SPHL scoring title with 66 points. Pawlick was also named to the SPHL First All-Star Team.

Earlier this month, the Wheeling Nailers re-signed former Golden Knight Jarrett Burton '14 to an ECHL contract.

Burton, 24, made his professional debut at the end of the 2013-14 season, appearing in two games with the Nailers, before returning to Wheeling for his rookie campaign in 2014-15. Burton's play began to take off in December, as he started that month with points in five of the first six games, including three multi-point efforts, led by three points against Reading on the 14th. The first-year forward added another three-point game against the Royals in February, when he netted his first two-goal game as a pro. For the season, Burton appeared in 52 games, notching 12 goals, 16 assists, and 28 points, finishing seventh on the team in scoring. The Echo Bay, Ontario native's hard work on and off the ice earned him the Project BEST Player's Player Award, as chosen by his teammates.
