Senior Troy Josephs scored late in regulation to force a 2-2 draw against Yale in the opening round of the Shillelagh Tournament, but the Clarkson University Hockey team will advance to Saturday's championship game as the Golden Knights scored on all three of their shots in the tie-breaking shootout.

Clarkson, which extended its unbeaten streak to six games (4-0-2) with the non-conference tie against Yale, will face host Notre Dame in the championship game to be play at Compton Family Ice Arena in South Bend, IN at 7:35 p.m.

The Knights stand at 7-5-3 after skating to their second tie against Yale in the last week.

Freshman Sheldon Rempal, junior defenseman Terrance Amorosa and senior Jordan Boucher tallied the shootout goals and freshman goaltender Jake Kielly turned away two of Yale's three shots to help the Green and Gold advance to their first in-season tournament championship game since 2005.

Clarkson opened the scoring to start the game when Rempal finished off a pass from rookie linemate Devin Brosseau with a wrist shot at 3:14 of the first period for his fourth goal of the year. For Brosseau, the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, that was his team-high 10th assist of the season.

Yale (2-4-2) struck twice in the second period to take a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes. Frankie DiChiara scored on the power play at 7:05 and Joe Snively put the Bulldogs ahead with 64 seconds left in the stanza.

The Knights, who skated to a 3-3 draw against Yale this past Saturday at Cheel Arena, forced overtime when Josephs deflected in a shot by sophomore defenseman Aaron Thow at 14:36 of the third period for his fifth goal of the season. Josephs has four goals over the past six games.

Both teams had 29 shots. Kielly finished with 27 saves, including 12 in the second period.

Clarkson went scoreless on four power-play chances, while Yale converted on one-of-five opportunities.

The Knights' last shootout win was against Bemidji State (1-0) in the opening round of the Catamount Cup at the University of Vermont on December 30, 2005.
