Thanks to a pair of one-goal victories last week, the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team had a pair of players gain Liberty League Weekly notice as Eric Gollands (Chelmsford, MA) and Ryan Cole (Orchard Park, NY) took the honors on Monday.
Gollands, who shared Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week honors, scored four goals and added an assist in two games last week. The junior attackman scored a goal against Potsdam State in a 8-7 victory, and then added a four-point effort against 15th-ranked Rensselaer. Gollands scored three goals in a crucial run for the Knights as they picked up a key conference victory.
Cole, who was named Liberty League Defensive Performer of the Week along with another player from Union, had just one start last week, but made the most of his time as he was the goalkeeper against Rensselaer. Cole overcame a tough start and made 19 saves in the contest, including 17 stops among the final 22 shots on goal over the final three quarters of the contest.
