Clarkson lax player Gollands earns All-America Honors

One of the most consistent performers in the country this season at midfield, Clarkson University Lacrosse standout, Eric Gollands was honored as a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-America to cap off an outstanding career for the Golden Knights.

A senior from Chelmsford, MA, Gollands helped to pace the Green and Gold offense this spring, as Clarkson’s second-leading goal scorer with 24 tallies through 15games. Gollands’ efforts helped the Knights post a 9-6 overall record and earn a berth in the Liberty League Tournament for the third time over the past four years.

Gollands also earned Liberty League First-Team All-Star honors for the second consecutive year. Gollands, who finished with 26 points this season, compiled 52 goals and 10 assists through 47 career games.

Also selected to participate in the prestigious USILA North/South Senior Division III All-Star Game, Gollands also excelled in the classroom as a Civil Engineering major, and was honored on the Liberty League All-Academic Team for the third consecutive season.

The USILA/LAXWORLD North-South Game will be played on Friday, May 25, 2012 at Harvard Stadium, Harvard University, Boston, MA. The game times are 3:00PM for the Division III game and 5:30PM for the Division I-II games. These games will bring together 132 of the finest senior lacrosse players in the country. The North-South Game started in 1940.

The 23rd player in the program’s history to have gained All-America accolades, Gollands earned Honorable Mention status this season.
