Junior Bryan Huff (Hillsborough, NJ) and sophomore Ryan Cole (Orchard Park, NY) spearheaded the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team to a pair of victories last week and the two players were rewarded with Liberty League Weekly honors on Monday.
The Golden Knights, 8-4 overall and 4-0 in the Liberty League, became the first team to clinch a post-season berth. The team looks to solidify its position in the conference standings this weekend when it hosts Union College on Saturday.
Huff, a junior attackman, was named Liberty League Co-Offensive Performer of the Week. Huff scored three goals and added four assists in a pair of victories last week, scoring his three goals on just three shots. He also added three groundballs and caused a turnover in the two wins. Huff is the team leader in points with 27 (17 goals, 10 assists) and ranks 10th in the conference in scoring.
Cole, a sophomore goalkeeper, was named Liberty League Co-Defensive Performer of the Week. Cole continued his hot streak in goal, allowing only 4.57 goals per game over two victories last week with a .667 save percentage. Against St. Lawrence, he allowed only four goals and made seven saves and versus Hamilton he had 11 saves and gave up just five goals. He also had eight groundballs. Cole leads the conference in saves made this year with 122.
