Clarkson Hockey announces Class of 2018

Casey Jones, the Leonard S. Ceglarski Endowed Chair for the Clarkson University Hockey team, has announced his third full recruiting class as the Golden Knights' Head Coach. Jones, who was named the 11th head coach in Clarkson's history in May of 2011, along with assistant coaches Phil Roy '00 and Andy Jones, has brought in six forwards and three defensemen, who will be counted upon to help the Green and Gold fill the void left by the seven graduated seniors.

Clarkson's Class of 2018 is represented by four players from Ontario, three from Quebec and one each from California and Finland. Two of the incoming Golden Knights played in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) and two come from the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), while one each competed in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), Quebec Junior Hockey League (QJHL), Quebec Collegiate Hockey League (QCHL), United States Hockey League (USHL) and in Finland Junior A. The group of nine freshmen will join a Green and Gold squad that is coming off its best season in six years.

"We are very excited to bring this class of student-athletes to Clarkson," stated Casey Jones. "We have identified these student-athletes as players who fit the needs of our team and our development model here at Clarkson Hockey. They are all high character individuals who will play vital roles in the Golden Knights' future success. They bring solid work ethic, energy and skill sets that will mesh well with our returning veterans. I want to thank Phil Roy '00 and Andy Jones for all their hard work."
