Four freshmen who will join the Clarkson University Hockey team this fall were announced today by head coach Casey Jones.

The Golden Knights' Class of 2019 includes two forwards, one defenseman and one goaltender. Juho Jokiharju, Marly Quince, Mathew Robson and Aaron Thow are expected to make an impact and will help solidify a veteran roster for the Green and Gold in 2015-16. "It is a very good class that will offer us a lot of flexibility in our lineup," stated Jones. "They are players who bring different dimensions in their style of play. They are good people, who are talented hockey players and they are going to make us better."

Below is a breakdown of the four individuals who make up the Golden Knights' Class of 2019 with a quote from coach Jones:

JUHO JOKIHARJU

Forward – shoots left

5-10, 174 - July 10, 1995 –

Espoo, Finland/Lukko U20 (Jr. A SM-liiga)

Scored at least 50 points in each of the last three seasons, playing in Finnish junior leagues … Tallied 57 points in 47 games on 18 goals and 39 assists last year with Lukko U20 in the Jr. A SM-liiga league.

"Juho (YOU-ho) is an elite skater who had a very good year offensively in the junior league in Finland, finishing in the Top 10 in scoring. He has good vision and his skating ability allows him time and space to make plays. Like all young guys coming from overseas there will be a transitional period, but we are really excited about his skill level. Juho will add an element to our team that we need."

MARLY QUINCE

Forward – shoots left

6-0, 183 – January 29, 1994 –

Thunder Bay, ONT/Cornwall Colts (CCHL)

A standout forward for the Cornwall Colts the past four seasons, averaging close to a point per game (0.97) … Tallied 205 points on 95 goals and 110 assists for the Colts in 211 career games … Scored a career-high 64 points, including 41 assists through 52 games in the 2014-15 campaign … Served as Cornwall's captain the past two seasons … A CCHL All-Star earning the league's Outstanding Graduating Player award this past season … Skated in two WJAC-19 Tournaments (2012-13, 2013-14) for Canada East, acting as captain of his team in 2013-14.

"Marly is a heavy, physical hockey player who comes with a good stick. He played a major role on his junior team and was an impact player in the World Junior U19 Tournament. Marly is a complete player - tough, resilient, with good hockey sense who plays a 200-foot game. He can be used in any situation. Marly will add a lot to our team."

MATHEW ROBSON

Goaltender – catches left

6-2, 170 – March 26, 1996

Mississauga, ONT/Toronto Lakeshore Patriots (OJHL)

Number one goaltender and playoff standout for the Toronto Patriots last season ... Started 32 of 35 regular-season games en route to a 21-12 record with a pair of shutouts … Posted a .916 save percentage and a 2.50 goals against average ... "Matt is a young goaltender with great potential. He has good size and is very athletic. One of Matt's greatest qualities is his ability to play the puck. He had a very good season this past year with the Toronto Lakeshore Patriots and his strong playoff run will help prepare him for the demands of playing at the Division I level. As he develops, Matt should enjoy a solid collegiate career."

AARON THOW

East York, ONT/Cedar Rapids RoughRiders (USHL)

A shutdown defenseman who skated in the USHL this past season for Cedar Rapids after playing the previous two seasons for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens in the OJHL … Played in 52 games for the RoughRiders, recording 16 points, including 15 assists … Earn a spot as a member of Team Canada East U19 that competed at the 2013 WJAC-19.

He played a significant role on a very good team in Cedar Rapids. He should impact us in a lot of areas with his ability to defend and move the puck efficiently."
