Three different Golden Knights scored goals and freshman Steve Perry (Ligonier, PA) made 29 saves as the 14th-ranked Clarkson University Hockey team earned its 12th one-goal win of the year with a 3-2 victory over Brown on Saturday night to complete a weekend sweep in ECAC Hockey action at Cheel Arena.

The Golden Knights, who defeated Yale 3-2 on Friday, own a 15-7-2 overall record and hold down third place in the ECAC Hockey standings with an 8-2 conference mark. Clarkson gained its first home weekend sweep in conference play since February 12-13, 2010. The Knights take to the road next weekend with a trip to central NY, playing at Colgate and Cornell.

Senior Allan McPherson (Kinburn, ONT), who scored the game's first goal, paced the Clarkson offense with one goal and one assist. Sophomore T.J. Moor (Lake St. Louis, MO) and senior Will Frederick (Allsion Park, PA) also scored in the win, which snapped Brown's unbeaten streak at six games (4-0-2).

Clarkson came out strong to start and dominated the opening of the game and got on the scoreboard early. McPherson knocked in a rebound during a flurry in front at 2:48 for his team-high eighth goal of the season. Linemates, sophomore Jeff DiNallo (Aurora, ONT) and freshman Jordan Boucher (St. Therese, QUE) picked up the assists with shots from the top of the crease.

After a 10-minute delay to start the second period after problem with boards in front of the visitor's bench, Brown (7-7-3, 4-5-1) was the sharper of the two teams to start the stanza and quickly tied the game at 1-1. The Bears' leading scorer, Mark Naclerio took a long pass from Matt Wahl along the left boards and fired in his 11th goal of the season just 61 seconds into the period. Brown goaltender Tyler Steel also assisted.

Clarkson went back on top, 2-1, midway through the period. Freshman defenseman Bryan Sinz (Anchorage, AK) picked up a loose puck and sent a pass through the neutral zone to Moor, who broke in alone and slipped in his second goal of the season to give the Green and Gold a 2-1 lead at 10:09.

The Bears came back to tie it once again when Massimo Lamacchia skated from behind the net and lifted in a backhand shot at 16:46 for a 2-2 score.

Frederick came through with the game-winner early in the third period with a power-play tally at 5:45. Frederick picked up a pass from the point by McPherson and lifted a shot under the crossbar from the top of the crease for his fourth goal of the season. Senior captain Ben Sexton (Kanata, ONT) also assisted on the deciding goal.

Clarkson outshot the Bears 34-31, including by an 11-6 margin over the final 20 minutes. The Knights went 1-of-3 on the power play and killed off both Brown man-advantage opportunities.

Perry made 13 saves in the first period, 10 more in the second, and finished with six over the final 20 minutes to post his second straight win and sixth of the season.
