A pair of Clarkson University Baseball standouts earned weekly honors from the Liberty League when senior David Kinney (Mexico, NY) was named the conference’s Baseball co-Performer of the Week, and freshman John Coleman (Potsdam, NY) was selected the league’s Baseball Rookie of the Week.
Kinney has started 2012 right where he left off last season, going 12-for-19 (.632) with five extra base hits in his first five games. On the mound, he took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and allowed only four hits in a complete game victory, a 5-3 win over Franklin & Marshall on March 17.
Coleman batted .563 (9-for-16) with a team-best eight RBIs in the team's first five games, including his first collegiate home run in the Knights’ 16-4 win over Sewanee the University of the South on Sunday.
Clarkson is off to a 4-1 start in its Florida trip and plays Worcester State in a doubleheader on Tuesday at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, FL.
