DANBURY, Conn. – Will Coleman, a versatile player in his freshman season for the Clarkson University Baseball team was selected the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Upstate Baseball Rookie of the Year.

Coleman put together as impressive a rookie season as anyone in the country this year. The adaptable freshman played six different positions for the Golden Knights, including pitcher, left field, center field, shortstop, second base and designated hitter. He was named Liberty League Rookie of the Year after posting a 5-0 record on the bump with four saves and an earned run average of 2.78. At the plate, Coleman was equally as stout, batting .351 with 22 RBI and eight stolen bases. The ABCA All-Region selection concluded the season with a 10-game hitting streak that saw him go 24-for-48 at the dish. In the Liberty League Conference Tournament, Coleman tallied a victory on the mound against Rochester while also going 7-for-14 over three games with four runs scored. In 118 plate appearances this season, Coleman struck out just twice.

Will's older brother, John Coleman was named a first-team Division III Upstate ECAC All-Star.
