Clarkson University Hockey alumnus Brandon DeFazio '11 became the latest former Golden Knight standout to reach the National Hockey League when the Vancouver Canucks recalled the forward from the AHL's Utica Comets on November 9.
A native of Oakville, ONT, DeFazio (#39) played in Vancouver's 2-1 shootout victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday at the Honda Center in Anaheim. He skated in just over six minutes as a left wing.
The 26-year-old had six points (four goals, two assists) in 13 games with the Comets this season.
The six-foot-two, 204-pound forward collected 34 points (17 goals, 17 assists) and 106 penalty minutes in 76 games played with Utica last season.
DeFazio played in 141 games at Clarkson (2007-11) and recorded 77 points on 36 goals and 41 assists.
DeFazio joins former Knights Mark Borowiecki '11 (Ottawa), Grant Clitsome '08 (Winnipeg), Eric Cole' '00 (Dallas) and Willie Mitchell '99 (Florida), who are currently playing in the NHL.
