Bronx, NY – Freshman Antanasia Chambers posted a game-high 27 points establishing a new career best in scoring, but the SUNY Canton women's basketball team fell 63-51 to Mount Saint Vincent College in the consolation game of the Lehman College Coaches v. Cancer Tournament on Friday.
Chambers shot 9-for-20 from the floor including a perfect 7-for-7 mark at the charity stripe in 35 minutes of action. Taylor Saltus and Sade Rogers chipped in seven points apiece, while Billie Rivenburgh hauled down a team-best seven rebounds and Jasmine Dixon added six boards.
Kelly Oliver and Kelly Nola totaled 16 points apiece for Mount Saint Vincent (5-4), while Aria Rheams added 11 points and 13 rebounds.
The Dolphins jumped out to a quick 19-7 lead after the opening quarter and extended their lead to 37-17 at intermission. The Roos (3-7) outscored the Dolphins 34-26 after intermission that included an 18-point third quarter.
The women's basketball team returns to the hardwood in 2018 when it visits SUNY Cobleskill on January 6th
