Canton, NY – Antanasia Chambers led a balanced effort as the SUNY Canton women's basketball team cruised to a 69-33 win v. Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences on Sunday afternoon in the Roos House.
Both teams struggled shooting to start as the Roos held a slim, 11-8 lead after the opening quarter. SUNY Canton outscored the Panthers 15-6 in the second period to take a 26-14 lead into intermission.
Antanasia Chambers and Tatiana Laroche led the hosts with eight points apiece, while Randi Conway added five points and seven rebounds. Dannie Griffin paced Albany Pharmacy with five points.
The Roos cruised in the second half extending their lead to as many as 39 as the reserves also chipped in up and down the lineup.
Chambers led all players with 21 points, while Laroche, Conway and Taylor Saltus added eight points apiece. Tyberia Wallace chipped in seven points off the bench, while Billie Rivenburgh added seven rebounds and Conway tallied nine boards.
Griffin paced the Panthers with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Roos held the upper hand in rebounds (40-30), offensive rebounds (14-6), second chance points (10-2), points in the paint (44-8), points off turnovers (26-5), bench points (25-8) and fast break points (16-0).
The women's basketball team is back in action on Wednesday when it visits Morrisville State at 7 p.m.
