Canton, NY – Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, ON) scored her fourth and fifth goals of the season but the women's hockey team closed out a weekend set with a 6-3 loss to visiting Chatham University on Saturday afternoon at the Roos House.

The junior forward from Bowmanville got the scoring started just 85 seconds into the first period when she lit the lamp off passes from Margret Troiano (Morristown, NY) and Caty Darling (Oswego, NY). The second assist marked the first point of the year for the senior captain.

Four minutes later Cassidy Calhoun found the back of the net for the first time for Chatham in what would prove to be a string of five unanswered scores. She would add her second of the game at the 17:19 mark of the first as the Cougars led 2-1 after one.

Erika Martin and Karlee Kaufman added second period tallies, while Colhoun completed the hat trick five minutes into the final frame to put Chatham up 5-1. The Roos (1-16-1) responded with back-to-back markers. The first came at the 6:04 mark of the period when Lindsey Hall (Ancaster, ON) found the back of the net through a scrum in front of goal. Lora Ardoin (Houston, TX) and Sydney Kinder (New York, NY) were credited with assists on a play.

Carroll added her second of the day as she fired a shot from the left side that slid its way through the five-hole of Sydney Isbell. Troiano and McKayla Duffy (Bloomingdale, NY) earned helpers on the play. The Cougars added an empty-netter with 12 seconds remaining for the 6-3 final.

Rebecca DiNardo (Ottawa, ON) made 22 stops for the Roos, while Isbell made 23 saves for Chatham. SUNY Canton went 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Cougars were 0-for-4.

The women's hockey team hits the road for a Tuesday tilt against SUNY Cortland beginning at 4:00 p.m.
