Canton, NY – Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, ON) found the back of the net eight times including five in the second half to lead the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team to a 19-9 victory against visiting Keuka College on Saturday.

The Roos (6-2), winners of three straight, never trailed in the game. SUNY Canton got out to a 3-1 lead after five minutes of play as Lora Ardoin (Houston, TX), Amanda Woods (Williamsville, NY) and Carroll caged early goals.

The Wolfpack (4-2) responded with two straight tallies to knot the game at three. SUNY Canton retorted scoring the next six goals to open up a convincing 9-3 lead, but Keuka got three back to get within 9-6. Tressa Goolden (Canton, NY) beat the opposing goalie for the 38th time this season with just 3.6 seconds left in the opening half as the Roos led 10-6 at intermission.

Keuka got within two scoring the first two goals of the second half. Goolden broke the Roos scoring drought with 13:14 remaining as SUNY Canton went on to score nine of the final 10 goals of the contest.

Carroll had a huge game finishing with game-highs of eight goals, eight ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Goolden added four goals and one assist, while Ardoin finished with two goals and three assists. Megan Poupore (Massena, NY) proved to be the catalyst offensively dishing out a game-high five assists to go with her goal.

Hannah Christiansen (Lake View, NY), Devyn Hutcheson (Oswego, NY) and Woods each scored once while adding an assist. Woods stuffed the stat sheet with a team-high four draw controls to go with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Kelsey Murray (Central Square, NY) was solid defensively forcing four turnovers.

Becca Kieffer (Lee Center, NY) earned her fourth win of the season between the pies making four saves. Maeve Fletcher was saddled with the loss playing the first half before Samantha Peacock played the final 30 minutes in relief.

The women's lacrosse team will put its three game win streak on the line on Tuesday when it hosts 7-2 Clarkson University at 4:00 p.m.
