St. Lawrence University rookie Jill Carlton scored a game-high three goals and five assists for eight points, as the Saints women's lacrosse team cruised to an 18-2 win over Becker College on Thursday in West Palm Beach, FL. Senior co-captain Brigid Hurley scored two goals as well, including the 100th of her career.

St. Lawrence (3-1) finished with sound advantages in shots (43-12), ground balls (34-18) and draw controls (16-6). Becker falls to 0-3 on the year, with both goals coming from Ashley Mossey. Hawks' goaltender Shelby Wicks finished with 19 saves, while the Saints' trio of goalies, Adden Cunningham, Molly Herman and Greta White, each had two stops.

"We continued to move the ball well in transition today and were able to cut back on our turnovers," said St. Lawrence head coach Jodi Canfield, whose team finishes its spring trip with a perfect 3-0 mark. "We'll look to build on our confidence with a tough upcoming schedule ahead of us."

Ten different Saints scored in the win, including hat tricks for Carlton, Abigail Horan and Abigail Owens. Hurley and Lizzy Saward both scored twice, while Caroline Bailey, co-captain Joey Kelley, Carly VanTassel, co-captain Stephanie O'Rourke and Michaela Maybee added one each.

St. Lawrence would blow the game open in the first half, scoring the first nine goals in the opening 20:00 minutes. Up 10-1 at intermission, the Saints would answer a goal by Mossey to make it 10-2 with an 8-0 run to close the contest for the 18-2 win.

St. Lawrence will return to action next Thursday, March 21 when the team hosts currently-ranked No. 3 Cortland State at Hall-Leet Stadium. Game-time is scheduled for 4:00pm between the Saints and Red Dragons.
