The St. Lawrence University women's basketball tri-captains, Kara McDuffee, Allison Cady and Lauren Quattrocchi, paced the Saints to an 84-68 Liberty League victory at RIT on Friday evening. McDuffee and Cady each scored 21 points, while Quattrocchi had a career-high 10 assists.

McDuffee added a game-high 16 rebounds for a double-double, as St. Lawrence moved to 7-3 (2-1) on the year. The Saints shot 44% from the field and used a 44-33 advantage in rebounds to knock off the Tigers (6-6, 0-3). Ashlynn Palmitesso led RIT with 17 points while Jessi Glaz added 13 points and five assists.

"I really enjoyed watching the team today. We were very unselfish and moved the ball well to get good shots. We played well the whole game, and though we shot it poorly early, we got red-hot in the last 25 minutes," said St. Lawrence head coach Dan Roiger. "We had excellent intensity and mental focus and gave a great team effort tonight."

RIT jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, but a 12-0 run kick started St. Lawrence with seven points coming from Cady. Though the two teams went back-and-forth in the opening half, two three pointers in the final :32 seconds gave the Saints a 34-27 lead at the break. Up 28-27, Caroline Dalton hit a three and, after an RIT turnover, McDuffee followed with another triple for the seven-point cushion.

The hot shooting would continue for St. Lawrence in the second half, as the Saints used a 26-9 run to put the game away midway through the second half. McDuffee and Cady led the way offensively, and a 25-13 rebounding advantage helped St. Lawrence to a game-high 22 point lead at 60-38 with 10:51 to play. RIT would get no closer than 13 points down the stretch as the Saints cruised to an impressive league road win.

St. Lawrence held a 17-4 lead in second chance points. Rookie Kaelyn Kohlasch added 10 points for the Saints, who will be in action again tomorrow, Saturday, January 10 in Geneva, NY against William Smith College at 2:00pm.
