The St. Lawrence University women's basketball team hosted the Canton Hoopsters girl's traveling team for a skills clinic on Monday afternoon in Canton, NY.
The Saints worked alongside the fifth and sixth grade girls on a number of drills, including shooting, ballhandling, passing, layups and defense throughout the session. After working on the fundamentals, the Saints and the Hoopsters competed in a series of contests to finish out the afternoon.
"We established a relationship last year with the Hoopsters, and we wanted to continue that this year," said St. Lawrence Head Coach Dan Roiger. "The Hoopsters are a very enthusiastic group and support our program, and our players do a great job of working with them and developing personal relationships with all of the girls."
The Scarlet and Brown, who are 5-0 in the Liberty League, will look to extend their six game win-streak this weekend when they host conference opponents Rensselaer and Union. The team will take on the Engineers on Friday at 6:00pm before facing the Dutchwomen on Saturday at 2:00pm.
