BUFFALO, N.Y.—The College at Brockport (17-8, 7-0 SUNYAC) defeated the SUNY Potsdam volleyball team (11-13, 1-6) 3-0 on Friday evening. The match marked the start of the final weekend of SUNYAC Pool Play.
The Golden Eagles took 25-19, 25-18 and 25-21 decisions from the Bears. Freshman outside hitter Anika Anderson (Honolulu, Hawaii/Radford) led Potsdam with nine kills, an ace, a block and six digs. Senior outside hitter Kelsey Tompkins (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) totaled four kills and a block and freshman middle hitter Monica Mack (Webster, N.Y./Webster Thomas) added three kills. Junior captain Brianna Rodda (Holbrook, N.Y./Sachem East) had 20 assists, while junior defensive specialist Maddie Kaplan (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Peru) recorded 11 digs. Senior captain Rachel Topf (Eagle River, Alaska/Chugiak) had seven digs and two assists.
Potsdam closes out SUNYAC play tomorrow when the Bears square off with SUNY Cortland at noon and host Buffalo State at 2:30 p.m.
