Elmira, NY – MaryClare Bowes led all players with four goals and two assists as the SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team earned a 13-7 road win at Elmira College in their regular season finale on Sunday.
The Soaring Eagles (3-13) scored three of the first four goals of the contest but a pair of Bowes goals in the final two minutes of the first half gave the Roos (10-7) a 5-4 lead at intermission.
It was all SUNY Canton after intermission as they outscored Elmira 8-3 including tallying the first five goals of the second stanza.
Jessica Pele, Katelynn Nutter and Carin Sherwood all chipped in two goals and one assist each, while Logan Bush, Molly Denny and Allison Auger also found the back of the cage for the Roos. Cecelia Neally picked up a game-high five ground balls, while Amanda Woods tallied game-bests of five draw controls and three caused turnovers.
Nicole Piskorowski made seven saves in her ninth win of the season, while Payton Rusin made three stops in the loss for Elmira.
