GENESEO, N.Y.—SUNY Geneseo (9-6-3, 4-5 SUNYAC) scored three second half goals to down the SUNY Potsdam men's soccer team (10-6-1, 4-4-1) 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. Matt D'Amico scored all three goals for the Blue Knights.

The Bears pressured the Blue Knights in the opening half, but were unable to break through. Potsdam tested Geneseo goalie Logan Calvey three times, but the senior kept the contest scoreless. Bears senior keeper Jesse Kohler (Middletown, N.Y./Tompkins-Cortland C.C.) stopped one shot in the opening 45 minutes.

Potsdam continued to keep Calvey on his guard until midway through the second half. Geneseo finally mounted some pressure of its own with about 20 minutes left. Four quick shots in succession and a corner kick resulted in D'Amico's first strike at 72:21. In the 86th minute, he doubled the score, knocking home a cross Reidis Lata at the top of the box. Just 51 seconds later, D'Amico completed his hat trick and closed the scoring after maneuvering around Kohler.

Kohler and Calvy both finished with five saves. The Blue Knights outshot Potsdam 19-12 and edged the Bears 7-5 in corner kicks.

Potsdam finishes the conference schedule as the fifth seed in the upcoming tournament. They will travel to fourth seeded SUNY Plattsburgh next weekend for a rematch of the 2011 quarterfinals. The date and time of the contest are to be announced.

The Bears close out the regular season when they battle Clarkson University at Clarkson's Hantz Field on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
