Bibb leads Saints men's xcountry to 5th at Paul Short Brown Race

Captain Trevor Bibb finished 21st in a 372-runner field and St. Lawrence University's men's cross country team finished fifth overall and first among Division III entries in the Paul Short College Men's Brown race as part of the Paul Short Invitational Cross Country meet at Lehigh on Saturday.

Bibb ran the 8 kilometer course in 25:54 to lead the Saints with sophomore Wesley Kirui finishing 30th overall and second for SLU in 26:04. Brendan Courneene was the third Saint finisher in 26:18, 40th overall, while Landen Elliott-Knaggs was 58th in 26:34 and sophomore Spencer Patterson completed the Siant scoring with a 66th place finish in 26:40.

Thomas Caulfield was the sixth Saint finisher in 27:01, 95th overall and Scott Smolensky finished 106th in 27:06 to complete the Saint top seven.

Princeton won the 46-team Brown championship with 94 points with Albany second with 133, Monmouth third with 158, Canisius fourth with 170 and the Saints fifth with 215.

The Saints, ranked 30th in Division III nationally, will host the Ronald C. Hoffmann Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12.
