POTSDAM, N.Y.—Junior assistant captain Anna-Rose Bertin (Marathon, Ontario/Canadian International Hockey Academy) and senior forward Jordan Ott (Hilton, N.Y./Rochester Edge) each scored twice as the SUNY Potsdam women's hockey team (7-6-1, 3-3-1 ECAC West) ralled for a 4-4 tie with Neumann University (6-7-1, 2-4-1). Ott also added an assist on the night leaving her two points shy of 100 (56g-42a-98pts) for her career. Senior captain Grace Klienbach (Eustis, Fla./Boston Shamrocks) (2-1-3) and junior forward Bek Lucas (Feasterville, New Jersey Colonials) (1-2-3) each had three points for the Knights.

Lucas set up Klienbach at the 12:49 mark of the first period to open the scoring. Lucas doubled the advantage with 27 seconds left in the period. The Bears outshot Neumann 14-11 in the first 20 minutes, but trailed 2-0 at the break.

Klienback struck again shorthanded at 6:35 of the second period to give the Knights a commanding 3-0 lead. Almost five minutes later, Potsdam started its comeback. The Bears went on the power play at the 10:02 mark and Bertin made the most of it. She closed the gap to 3-1 at 11:23 with assists from senior captain Kaylen Van Wagner (Red Hook, N.Y./Hotchkiss Prep) and Ott. Bertin struck again at 18:30 with an assist from junior forward Brenna Wilson (Kanata, Ontario/Ottawa Senators) and Ott tied the score with her first just 29 seconds later with an unassisted effort. The Bears dominated the shot totals in the middle period, 17-6.

The third period was tightly contested. After Potsdam killed off two power plays in the first half of the final stanza, the Bears took their lone lead of the contest. At 14:27, Ott made it 4-3 with another helper from Van Wagner. However, the advantage lasted just 1:04. Freshman defenseman Halle Crane (Chatham, Ontario/Southwest Wildcats) knotted the score for good at 15:31.

Potsdam controlled the play in overtime. The Bears outshot the Neumann 7-3 in the extra five minutes, but neither team could net the game-winner.

Potsdam freshman goaltender Alexa Pfeiffer (Sylvania, Ohio/Little Caesar's) finished with 24 saves, while Knights senior goalie Julia Fair (Meadville, Pa./Pittsburgh Elite) turned aside 41 shots.

Neumann was 0-for4 on the power play and the Bears finished 1-for-4.

The two teams go at it again tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. in Maxcy Ice Arena.
