POTSDAM, N.Y.- The SUNY Potsdam men's basketball (1-8, 0-3 SUNYAC) suffered a 82-55 loss to Buffalo State (4-5, 1-3 SUNYAC) Friday evening at the Buffalo State Sports Arena. Junior guard Joe Estramonte (Greenwich, N.Y./Greenwich Central) led the Bears with 18 points, while Jordan Glover tallied 16 points in the victory.
Buffalo State didn't waste any time opening up the contest. The Bengals went on a 19-5 run that was capped by a 3-pointer by Roderick Epps at 12:43. Potsdam's junior forward Tariq McIntyre (Brooklyn, N.Y./Jefferson) scored in the paint to get the Bears within 12. However, Buffalo State continued to pull away. The Bengals got out to their biggest lead to close out the half with a 42-21 advantage.
Estramonte opened the Bears' scoring in the second half with a three, but Potsdam's offense continued to struggle, while Buffalo State shot 57% from the field. The Bengals pulled away to ensure the victory.
Senior guard Rishawd Hendricks (Brooklyn, N.Y./Mount Zion Christian Academy) added 10 points and junior guard Mitch Lamerson (Dansville, N.Y./Dansville) tacked on eight.
The Bears will look to bounce back tomorrow when they travel to Fredonia State to take on the Blue Devils at 2 p.m.
