Kieran Miller recorded a pair of career highs with 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead the St. Lawrence University Men's Basketball team to a 73-56 victory over Hobart College Saturday afternoon in a Liberty League contest at Bristol Gymnasium in Geneva.

On a day when a majority of the starting five struggled offensively, it was the play of the St. Lawrence (13-9 overall, 9-5 Liberty League) that propelled the Saints to the victory over Hobart (10-13, 6-8).

Kyle Edwards was the lone starter in double-digits scoring with a team-best 23 points.

Miller and Dom DeRegis combined to score 25 points off the bench for the Saints.

The win kept the Saints in first place in the Liberty League standings as St. Lawrence is tied with Union and Skidmore at the top of the standings with just two games remaining on the regular season schedule.

The Saints slowly built and early lead and then a 13-3 run in the later part of the first half gave them a 32-15 lead after Edwards drained a 3-pointer to cap the run.

St. Lawrence took a 42-25 lead into the halftime intermission as Edwards had 11 points and Miller added eight points and nine rebounds over the first 20 minutes.

In the second half, Miller's 3-pointer in the first few minutes of the half gave the Saints a 20-point lead at 49-20.

The Statesmen chipped away at the lead and cut the deficit to just 10 points at the 12:34 mark with the score at 53-43.

Miller converted a fast break layup and later added a jumper to help the Saints regain control. A 3-pointer by Edwards with 5:33 on the clock made it a 14-point lead and Miller added a layup 30 second later for a 16-point advantage as St. Lawrence cruised to the finish for the win.

Edwards had his 10 straight double-digit scoring night and second 20-point game in the last three while Miller finished with a career-best 17 points and 14 rebounds which led the team. DeRegis added eight points while Riley Naclerio and Willie Zachery each scored six.

The Saints return home to host Clarkson Wednesday night at 8 pm and will complete the regular-season with a game Sunday at Skidmore.
