Middlebury, VT – A day after finishing in the bottom third of entrants, the Clarkson University Golf team dropped 14 strokes off its team score to vault up three spots in the standings, finishing in a tie for 13th at the Duke Nelson Invitational, held at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course.

The Knights scored 301 on Sunday, which was the ninth best score among the 22 teams at the tournament.

A misread on the scorecard from Saturday dropped senior Brad Belote's score on day one to 76 and he was even better on Sunday, shooting a three-over par 74 to finish with a two-day score of 150, good enough for a tie in 26th place out of the 110 competitors. Classmate Thomas Conroy also improved his day two score by three strokes, carding a 75 to finish with a two-day total of 153. Freshman Zach Pilarchick began to figure out Ralph Myhre Golf Course on day two, shaving seven strokes off his first day's try and scoring a 76 for a two-day total of 159. Cameron Anthony also removed eight strokes, scoring a 160 total with a 76 on day two, while Trevor Labrecque finished with a 161 (78-83).
