The SUNY Potsdam swimming and diving team wrapped up their 2013-14 home portion of their season on Saturday afternoon against Oswego.
The women pulled out an exciting 149-139 victory while the men were outscored 185-103 on the final meet of the regular season.
The focus now shifts to the SUNYAC championships that will begin on Wednesday, Feb. 19 in Buffalo. The four-day event runs through Saturday, Feb. 22.
Women's winners on Saturday were freshman Kristin Canjura in the 1,000 freestyle and 500 freestyle, Jennifer Yeager in the 200 freestyle, junior Emily Kanoza in the 100 backstroke, junior Laurissa Coombs in the 200 butterfly, 200 backstroke and 200 individual medley, and the 400-yard freestyle relay team composed of Yeager, Kanoza, Stephanie Havens and Victoria Blakeslee.
Men's winners on Saturday included the 200-yard medley relay team (junior Dan Costa, senior Richie Zimmerman, sophomore Tyler Zapisek and freshman Ricky Blackburn), Zimmerman in the 100 backstroke, 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley, Costa in the 50 and 100 freestyle, Zapisek in the 100 butterfly.
