FREDONIA, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam women's soccer team (11-3-1, 4-1-1 SUNYAC) never trailed in a 3-2 victory at SUNY Fredonia (6-9, 2-4) as it collected its program record 11th win of the season. Junior midfielder Brooke Falsion (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport), sophomore midfielder Cierra Norris (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-DeWitt) and freshman forward Lexi Dean (Schenectady, N.Y./Mohonasen) each scored for the Bears and sophomore goalie Delphine Léonard (Montreal, Quebec/Dawson College Prep) made four saves.

Potsdam controlled the play in the first half, but wasn't able to break through until late. At 35:34, Falsion headed a perfect cross from Dean past Blue Devils goalie Marissa Quimby. Fredonia evened the score just 47 seconds later. Abby Price lofted a long shot from outside of the left corner of the box past Léonard to make it 1-1. Potsdam regained the lead for good at 40:08 as Norris fought her way between two defenders and ripped a shot past Quimby. The Bears took the 2-1 lead into the break along with a 9-1 advantage in corners and a 15-8 edge in shots.

Potsdam continued to press in the second half and extended the lead at 59:30. Falsion nudged the ball to Dean at her left and she send a bouncing shot from the top of the box into the right corner of the net. The Blue Devils countered of a scramble in front 12 minutes later. Fredonia was awarded a kick and send the ball to the right side and Danielle Spring beat Léonard with a shot through a crowd. The goal marked the beginning of an end-to-end rush. At 73:33 Fredonia's Lauren Cullinan nearly tied the game, but the ball clanged off the cross bar. Three minutes later, Falsion walked in all alone and fired for the left corner, but Quimby laid out to tip it wide. Léonard made two big saves in the last 10 minutes to preserve the win.

Quimby finished with eight saves on the day. Potsdam outshot the Blue Devils 29-18 and had 10 corners to Fredonia's four.

No Potsdam team, men or women, had reached the 11-win mark in program history before today. Four SUNYAC wins is the most by the Bears women's team since 1998.

With her three points today, Falsion now has 65 career points on 28 goals and nine assists.

Potsdam looks take another step towards a postseason berth tomorrow when the Bears head to Buffalo State at 1 p.m.
