POTSDAM, N.Y.—SUNY Potsdam women’s hockey player Annmarie Lewis was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference West Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 5.

Lewis scored four goals in a two-game split with Neumann over the weekend. The Bears’ captain scored the game-winner and tacked on an empty-netter in Saturday’s 4-2 come-from-behind victory over the Knights. On Sunday, Lewis sparked a Bears rally with two more goals, but Potsdam came up short 4-3.

In 18 games this season, Lewis leads Potsdam in scoring with 13 goals and nine assists for 22 points. She leads the team in goals, power-play goals (4) and is tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (3). Lewis is currently Potsdam’s all-time scoring leader with 40 goals and 43 assists for 83 points in 91 games.

The Bears (8-8-3, 5-8-3 ECAC West) can lock up a playoff spot at home this weekend with two wins over Chatham (0-14, 0-14) or a combination of wins, losses or ties by Potsdam and Utica.
